The
Dragão do Mar Center of Art And Culture is a large cultural center in Fortaleza. It is a wonderful place to spend an evening, with several good restaurants, samba and
forró bars, a cinema, a planetarium, and live bands playing in the square.
During the day, there are some great exhibitions to visit, and a government-owned shop selling high-quality local handicrafts. We visited a number of times to eat, listen to music, and go to some exhibitions.

The world cup was taking place in Brazil later on, in June - with some of the games being played in Fortaleza's own
Castelão stadium. As part of this, there was a
touring expo on the history of football in Brazil which visited the Dragão do Mar.
